Seal of Approval

I find myself on a sort of high right now. No! I am not under the influence of any kind. I just, I am just... pleased with myself, you can say. I know that is sort of odd to say, but nevertheless, it is true.

Now, I don't know if anyone is truly reading this blog or if they accidentally stumbled upon here and are about to log off. I don't know if anyone cares, but as of right now, I care. I care about what I write and about what I am about to write. I find the approval in myself and that is all I need. I think that is the most important thing.

At times we find ourselves caught up in trying to have others be pleased at our existence, but during the time of trying to make others happy, we find ourselves miserable. Why? Why should we put ourselves aside for other people. I am not talking about becoming selfish, just know that your happiness is just as important. Sometimes we forget that. Maybe we can have it all or maybe not, but we can try.

I started this blog as a way to blow off steam, as a way to be heard and change lives, as a way to be who I truly believe myself to be yet found it hard to be in the real world, (I guess you can say I find my inner thoughts to be easier to show through my writings) Of course I would love to touch more lives. I would love to get more views and have it actually make a difference. Just to know that my voice is important to someone would be wonderful, but the fact that I still continue to post despite actually having followers, I find it a win. Half of the battle was trying and I think I succeeded.

Class Favorites

Okay, so I know I have a lot to catch up on since the last time I posted. I promise you I will get their eventually, just look for the post labeled "The Catch Up."

As none of you know, I am the Editor-in-Chief of my school yearbook. Every year we have this page that's called Class Favorites. It contains "Best Hair" "Most Likely to Succeed" "Most Likely to Change the World" and so on. Well this year or more like every year we have problems with the nominees and winners.

This year I have this assistant. She had been telling everyone to vote for here. (Hey freak! If you are having to ask someone to vote for you, obviously you are not in that category.) Well the winner of that category was someone who in my opinion (or more like everyone's) deserved the title. Plus, she did not have to tell anyone to vote for her. They knew.

Apparently said loser demanded for a recount. The end result was that the loser was the winner by four. You see, there was a lot of speculations on how that happened and how she knew to ask for a recount. (Face it girl, nobody wanted to vote for you) But in the end, even if that was a low thing to do, that is not what is bothering me. The real question I want to ask is why? Why do you care? What does it matter?

We spend all this time trying to get rid of our labels, dork, jock, geek, etc. So what makes it socially acceptable to have our face plastered on the yearbook with a label? I don't understand why they want their picture next to a title "Most Likely to Change the World" if they have no intention to.

My challenge for today: I want you to pick two labels for yourself.
1) What label would you want to have written in stone for you?
2) What label is realistic?

Maybe, if really looked deep within, we might be able to understand ourselves with the labels we choose. Or maybe, you might think this is stupid and not care. Either way works for you.

It's the End, What are You Gonna Do?

Its December 21, 2012. The clock is ticking and I am inside with my friends and family reflecting on old times just like the do in every series finale on TV. When the the hands on the clock go straight up, the lights go out with no hope of ever returning. Alright, you caught me. It's mostly bull and the whole thought of the world ending has been over done. I am no believer and scientists and historians alike have been saying for the longest time that this is false, but with the day around the corner, it makes you wonder.  So it is pretty obvious what today's topic is. 2012. To be honest, I don't know what I would do if life ended before Christmas.  Well, for one thing, that means I would die before knowing whats in that big box under my Christmas tree so I would probably open it, but on a more serious note, I have no idea. I would, like any girl probably grow a set to tell that special guy , that I have always liked him and all that junk. (Okay, so I am not the delicate flower kinda girl, I have a hard time showing my feelings)  But mostly, I would just want to be around good company. My best friends and family telling old stories and watching movies. It wouldn't matter what we would be doing. We would be together. So ask yourself this: What would you do today if you knew that by midnight December 21, 2012, the world would cease to exist?
